This edition of musing through, we're trying something new, exciting AND NEVER BEFORE DONE!!!!! (I'm kidding, I'm not that original :p)
musing through: a night of spontaneous play, performance and witnessing.
WAYS TO PLAY:
WITNESS 👀
- Come by, be an observer with an open heart. Hold space for the human beans in space, as everyone improvises to their hearts' content! Open to anyone who is a curious individual about improvised, live compositions of all practices.
BE WITNESSED 🧍♀️🧍♂️
- Sign up to be part of the curated performer line-up, on your own/ with a group OR put your name in a hat and pick a prompt to respond to with anyone else on the day itself! Max. 10 min slots each. Only improvised performances allowed, please bring your own instruments/ props/ craft materials/ imagination if you'd like to!
FLIT LIKE A BUTTERFLY 🦋
- Come first, think later. Put your name in the hat, or not, see your mood on the day, but do indicate your attendance first so that we can keep track of numbers! Last call for improvisers by 8pm.
EVENT FLOW:
7pm-720pm | arrivals and landings (sign up to ~be witnessed~ will still be open)
720pm-8pm | introductions + guided movement class (somatic work)
8pm-9pm | spontaneous live compositions + invited guests
9pm-10pm | open jam for everyone!!!! (move, play, observe, massage, rest!)
10-1030pm | harvest + sharings + hopefully boisterous laughter
*Feel free to leave anytime/ take breaks during the open jam, especially if you find that your energy levels have dwindled and you need space to decompress.
You may bring any instruments/ craft items you might want to engage with during the open jam segment :)
Some communal activities may be provided in the space for you to use at anytime at all during the entire event, but please be aware and try to be supportive of the space and its energies while you enjoy and be present with yourself in the way you might need most.

ᴍᴜsɪɴɢ ᴛʜʀᴏᴜɢʜ is an open jam for all bodies, all practices, curious minds and playful wonder.
Facilitated by neo jialing - the jam first found its roots in her practice of movement, and then her desire for varied bodies in space to explore, experiment and experience together. There is often more joy derived from a community making and playing together than a singular body in space.
